DAP Chapbooks: Learning from our Design Justice Demands records active projects from the Design as Protest Collective to share and build community around design activism. This work is divided into four coherent chapbooks–Voice+Vision, Surveillance+Suppression, Land+Labor, and Energy+Environment. Our chapbooks are created for architects, designers, planners, policymakers, and community activists committed to taking action towards identifying and dismantling systemic racism within our practices, organizations, academic institutions, and local governments. The goal of these chapbooks is to achieve justice and liberation within design institutions by holding them accountable to their anti-racist commitments. As we work in collective, the DAP Chapbooks will weave DAP projects within our wider network’s projects to record the synchronicities and approaches to addressing the Design Justice Demands.

For Readers:
Orders of our chapbooks are now open through our website. Our first title, Voice and Vision, will begin shipping in April, with the rest of our chapbook series scheduled to ship by late 2026.
*As a collective, we believe that money should never be a barrier to accessing and engaging with our work. If you’re interested in a chapbook but the cost is prohibitive, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love to hear from you!
For Stockists:
We welcome partnerships with bookstores and stockists interested in carrying our chapbooks and offer a standard trade discount. That said, we understand that every store has unique needs and margins, and we’re happy to discuss alternative arrangements if another rate is a better fit.
